← The three modes CAREER MODE

Director

Transfers, money and facilities. The head coach picks the team.

You build the squad and build the club — then you watch, with no way onto the pitch.

IN YOUR HANDS

What you decide

The transfer market

Buying, selling, loaning out, renewing. The signings are yours, and so are the sales.

The finances

The bank balance, the wage bill, the budget and every decision involving money.

The stadium, stand by stand

Pricing per stand, building work, expansion — and the 20 to 52 week wait until the work is done.

Sponsorship and memberships

The sponsorship deals on the table and the membership plans that hold up the gate money.

Social media

You hire whoever runs the club's accounts — and that person's profile changes the tone of every post.

The head coach

Hiring him, setting the target for the season, pressing him, praising him and sacking him. The severance comes out of your budget.

OUT OF YOUR HANDS

What never crosses your desk

Said before you buy, on purpose: this is what sets one mode apart from the others.

Team selection

Your head coach picks the eleven. The Tactics screen does not open for you — and that is not an oversight.

Training and the academy

The work on the training ground is his, including who comes up from the academy.

The match

You watch as a spectator: no substitutions, no change of approach, no half-time intervention. The head coach makes the changes.

THE DAY TO DAY

On your desk: building work under way, sponsorship offers, contracts running down and the social media manager asking for approval before posting. And there is the head coach: if the season goes wrong, he feels the pressure from the president and the stands — and he may walk before you decide anything.

This mode is for you if…

For people who believe a club is built off the pitch, and want to see whether their bet on a head coach holds up.

Maybe it is not, if…

If the pleasure is in picking the team and changing it during the match, this mode takes exactly that away from you.
